The
only Liberating discovery is that My Avataric Divine
Spiritual Presence is Real, able to be tangibly experienced
under any and all circumstances. It is not about imagining
My Spiritual Presence or manipulating yourself. None
of that is satisfying, in any case. To searchlessly
Behold Me and, in the midst of it, to notice My Spiritual
Presence tangibly moving upon you in your real experience
— this is the great and Liberating discovery, the only
Satisfaction. Ultimately, it is the only Satisfaction
in life. Everything else is temporary, conditional,
ego-based, and disheartening. Only the discovery of
the tangible Reality of That Which Is Divine is heartening
and Liberating and Satisfactory.
Surrender of the faculties,
supported by all the secondary
disciplines, forms the foundation of the Way of Adidam.
From our first day as a formal devotee of Avatar Adi Da Samraj,
we engage our life of devotional Communion with Him by turning
the faculties of the body-mind to Him. Over time, we adapt to
the full range of life-positive disciplines that establish equanimity
in the body-mind, and free up energy and attention for more
profound Contemplation of Adi Da Samraj. These foundation practices
prepare us to enter the Spiritual dimension of life and practice.
The
Spiritual dimension of practice in the Way of Adidam
begins with searchless
Beholding, and is Spiritually Initiated by Avatar
Adi Da Samraj. He explains why He calls the practice "searchless":
It
is impossible to seek the Truth, and, as a result of the seeking
of It, Find It.
It
is impossible to seek Reality Itself, and, as a result of the
seeking of It, Find It.
Searchless
Beholding
is the Spiritually Awakened practice of Ruchira Avatar Bhakti
Yoga — or searchless surrender of the faculties to Avatar Adi
Da Samraj. It is a practice that can only be engaged on the
basis of Spiritual Initiation by Avatar Adi Da Samraj Himself.
That Spiritual Initiation is given by Him in occasions of silent
Beholding of Him, in which you sit facing His physical human
form and directly receive His Spiritual Transmission face-to-face.
This direct Spiritual Initiation is Offered by Avatar Adi Da
on special Initiatory retreats to those formally practicing
devotees who have completed the initial "student-beginner"
period of study and adaptation to the disciplines and the basic
practice altogether. This preparatory period can be as brief
as nine to twelve months.
Once you
are Spiritually Initiated by Avatar Adi Da Samraj into the Spiritual
practice of searchless Beholding, simply by maintaining that
practice (along with all the supportive disciplines), Avatar
Adi Da Samraj's Spiritual Transmission will spontaneously grow
you through all the stages in the process of Divine Awakening.
In Avatar
Adi Da's descriptions of searchless Beholding (below), He speaks
of His "Ruchira Shaktipat" — which is another name
for His unique Spiritual Transmission — and He uses the fullest
name for "Adidam": "the Way of Adidam Ruchiradam".
The
Way I have Revealed and Given is not any form of seeking.
The
Way I have Revealed and Given is, most fundamentally, a matter
of merely Beholding Me.
To
merely Behold Me is to be constantly engaged in devotional resort
to Me.
Merely
Beholding Me is the fundamental (and always primary) practice
of the only-by-Me Revealed and Given Way of Adidam Ruchiradam.
The
Way of Adidam Ruchiradam is searchless Beholding of Me,
without self-reference or strategic self-manipulation, and,
altogether, such that My Avataric Divine Spiritual Blessing
is effortlessly and tangibly experienced . . .
Searchless
Beholding of Me is a Spiritual matter.
Searchless
Beholding of Me is a whole bodily (or total psycho-physical)
reception of the Self-Existing and Self-Radiant Divine Conscious
Light of My own Spiritually Self-"Bright" Person.
Ruchira
Shaktipat (or Hridaya-Shaktipat) is the Process (or Mechanism)
by Which I Spiritually Transmit My Divine Conscious Light into
the conditionally manifested realms.
Thus,
fully established practice of the Way of Adidam Ruchiradam is,
altogether, a practice engaged within My Ruchira Shaktipat Circumstance.
Adidam
Ruchiradam is not a technique, but a relationship.
Adidam
Ruchiradam is a relationship (to Me) in which I Spiritually
Transmit Myself to you, and you receive (and respond to) My
Divine Spiritual Self-Transmission (or Ruchira Shaktipat).
Adidam
Ruchiradam is searchless Beholding of Me.
Searchless
Beholding of Me is the Essence of Satsang [the relationship]
with Me.
Searchless
Beholding of Me is heart-recognition of Me.
Searchless
Beholding of Me is the fully developed Essence of Ruchira
Avatar Bhakti Yoga.
Searchless
Beholding of Me is participation in My Divine Spiritual
Self-Transmission.
In
the Only-By-Me Revealed and Given Way of Adidam, Everything
(and All Of Divine Self-Realization Itself) Is Given (By Me)
As A Gift.
When
You Searchless Behold Me, You Do Not "Do" Anything.
When
You Searchlessly Behold Me, You Only (Tacitly, or Merely
By Turning To Me) Receive Me.
When
You Searchlessly Behold Me, You Simply (Effortlessly
and Spontaneously) Become (Spiritually) Saturated With Me
— Like A Sponge Soaking Up Water.
Such
Is The Avatarically-Given Divine Simplicity Of The Only-By-Me
Revealed and Given Way Of Adidam.
In
. . . My Twenty-Three Avatarically Self-Revealed Divine "Source
Texts", I Have Accounted, In Words, For The Entire Unfolding
Devotional and Spiritual Process In My Avataric Divine Company
— but That Real and True Devotional and Spiritual Process Is
Not, Itself, A Matter Of Words (or concepts, or thinking,
or philosophy).
The
Real and True Devotional and Spiritual Process In My Avataric
Divine Company Unfolds Only In The Context Of The Devotional-and-Spiritual
Relationship To Me — In Which I Self-Radiate (or Avatarically
Self-Transmit) The Spiritual Force Of My Own Avatarically Self-Revealed
(and Self-Evidently Divine) Person To My Devotee, who Then (On
That Basis) Responds To Me, By Fulfilling The Various Instructions
I Have Given Relative To The Structures and Patterns and Experiences
and Developments Of The Unfolding Devotional-and-Spiritual Process
In My Avataric Divine-Spiritual Company.
In
The Devotional-and-Spiritual Relationship To Me, There Is To-Me-Responsive
Devotion, and There Is Tangible Reception Of My Avatarically
Self-Transmitted Divine Spiritual Blessing. Essentially, There
Is Not Anything Else.
Even
from the beginning of their practice, devotees may feel the Spiritual
"effects" of Adi Da Samraj's Spiritual Presence in and
on their body-minds. They may feel the movement of energy; they
may experience "kriyas", in which their body is moved
or "shaken" in various ways; they may spontaneously
moan or make noises; they may see visions, hear sounds, or smell
scents; and so on.
Even
in the case of beginners in the Way of Adidam, many experiential
signs, or spontaneous effects, of My Spiritual Heart-Transmission
may appear during occasions of Darshan of Me (in my physical
Company). Such experiential signs may include spontaneous kriyas,
spontaneous mudras, spontaneous tears, spontaneous laughter,
spontaneous Yogic movements, spontaneous pranayama [breathing],
and other such spontaneous psycho-physical evidence of My Spiritual
Heart-Transmission. There may also appear other characteristic
signs in the mind. The mind may spontaneously become quiet,
or questions may disappear. There may be spontaneous understanding
and illumination, and difficulties and questions may spontaneously
be resolved. And there may be visions. . . .
In
any case, whatever signs do arise, your self-surrendering, self-forgetting,
and self-transcending practice of feeling-Contemplation of Me
must continue. If you cling to experiences, then the having
of any experience becomes dissociation from Me. Indeed, the
experience of any "thing" tends to become egoic. Therefore,
if you are My true devotee, then, no matter what arises, you
must surrender to Me, you must forget your separate and separative
self through feeling-Contemplation of Me, and you must transcend
your separate and separative self in ever-deepening Communion
with Me.
If
you are not actively Remembering Me, you are, necessarily, actively
remembering your separate and separative self.
Turning
attention and feeling to the effects of Avatar Adi Da Samraj's
Spiritual Presence is not
searchless Beholding of Avatar Adi Da Samraj. It is simply another
form of self-meditation, not different in kind from turning
attention and feeling to the usual and more common thoughts,
emotions, and bodily sensations.
The great
Gift of Avatar Adi Da Samraj's human Incarnation is that His
very body serves as a tangible
means for attracting, capturing, and absorbing our attention
and feeling.
Avatar Adi
Da Samraj has always emphasized that Contemplation of Him proceeds
first by Contemplating His bodily (human) Form. Then, over time,
through that Contemplation,
one is led to Contemplate His Spiritual
Presence — not the effects
of His Spiritual Presence, as noticed by and felt in the body-mind,
but He, Himself, in Spirit Form. Through that Contemplation
of His Spiritual Presence, one is finally led to Contemplate
His Very State: the Awakened State, the State of Divine Enlightenment.
Searchless
Beholding, which is the primary practice, is searchless Beholding
of My bodily (human) Form. It is not searchless Beholding of
some abstraction from Me. It is not searchless Beholding of
My Spiritual Presence.
Experience
is structured by the patterning of the body-mind, by
the self-contraction. Whatever people have on their minds can
become the basis for modifying My Transmitted Presence into
various kinds of experience or thoughts or presumptions.
Therefore,
coming [on retreat] and sitting in My Transmission Hall is not
a meditation exercise in which people come in and engage in
some sort of practices whereby they indulge in or play with
the body-mind — the self-contraction, in other words, the "point-of-view"
machine. It is about turning to Me, turning to Me in My bodily
(human) Form.
